Publishing Course Syllabus

The Syllabus in Canvas makes it easy to communicate to students and learners exactly what will be required of them throughout the course in chronological order.

The syllabus description is where you can do the following:

post your course description
add a brief introduction

specify class guidelines
post other important information

Organizing Course Content

UM6P instructors use the Modules tool to organize their course content (Files, Pages, Assignments, Quizzes, etc.) for students to progress through a specific order. When using Modules, course content is usually organized based on a weekly course schedule or by the various units in a course.

Canvas is designed to easily integrate multimedia items from the Internet into your course materials. Easily embed video, audio, images, etc, into a single page through the Content Editor.

Through Canvas, you can create and send automated emails and notifications to your students, increasing the speed and frequency of your communication with students.

All your students can get important updated information instantly, without having to go through your email accounts or multiple channels outside of Canvas.

Canvas allows you to share content and communicate with site participants remotely. As the meeting's presenter, you can display presentations, use a white board, use audio and/or a webcam, use text chat with participants, and share your desktop.
